One day, a proud peacock was drinking water at a pond. Nearby, a kind crow also came to drink quietly.
The peacock turned his face away. For a moment, both stayed silent.
Crow: “Hey… why did you turn away? Did I do something wrong?”
Peacock: “I am the most beautiful bird in this forest. And you… you are just black and plain. Don’t talk to me.”
Crow (feeling a bit sad): “Okay… as you wish.”
The crow flew away, and the peacock lost himself in his beauty.

The very next day, a hunter set a trap near the pond.When the peacock came to drink water, he got stuck in the trap.
Peacock: “Oh no! What’s happening? Someone help me!”Just then, the crow passed by and saw the peacock struggling in the trap.
Crow: “So, what happened now, Mr. Proud? You were so full of yourself yesterday!”
Peacock: “Crow brother, please help me! I’m very sorry. I was wrong.”
Crow: “Hmm… now you remember I’m also a bird?”
Peacock: “Yes, brother! Please forgive me! I promise I won’t ever look down on anyone again.”
Crow (smiling): “Alright then. Wait here, I’m coming!”The crow flew away and soon came back with his friend, the mouse.
Crow: “Mouse brother, hurry! The peacock is stuck in the trap!”
Mouse: “Just two minutes!”The mouse used his sharp teeth and cut the trap.The peacock was free.
Peacock: “Thank you, friends! You saved my life!”
Crow: “Now you understand? True beauty is in the heart, not in feathers.”
Peacock: “You’re right, brother. From today, we three are true friends!”
Mouse: “And from now on, the pond will be our meeting place!”(All three laugh as the sun sets by the pond.
