In a quiet and beautiful little village, there lived a cute little dog named Tommy.
Tommy was happy, playful, and always sniffing around to find something yummy to eat.
One day, while he was walking and sniffing along the road, he suddenly spotted a shiny bone under a tree.
Tommy’s eyes sparkled with joy.
“Wow! What a great bone! Today is my lucky day!
It looks so tasty. I’ll sit somewhere quiet and enjoy it,” he said.
Tommy held the bone tightly in his mouth an walked away.

After a while, he reached an old wooden bridge built over a river.
When he looked down into the clear water, he stopped.
He saw another dog in the water — and that dog also had a bone!
Tommy didn’t understand that it was just his own reflection.
“That dog has a bone too.
If I take his bone, I’ll have two bones! That will be awesome!” he thought.
Tommy tried to say, “Hey! Give me your bone!”
But because he was holding his bone in his mouth, all that came out was “Woof! Woof!”
The reflection in the water also moved its mouth and made the same sound.
Tommy thought the other dog was teasing him.
“Oh, you won’t listen? Fine! I’ll bark really loud and scare you!”
The moment Tommy opened his mouth to bark, his own bone slipped out and fell into the river.
“Oh no!”
The bone floated away with the water.

Tommy sat sadly on the bridge.
“It was my mistake. I already had a bone, but I wanted more.
My greed made me lose everything.”
After sitting quietly for a while, he stood up slowly.
“Next time, I won’t be greedy.
I’ll be happy with what I have.”
Tommy started walking back.
On the way, a little kid from the village saw him and stopped.
“Tommy, why are you sad? Here, have a cookie!”
The child handed him a tiny cookie.
Tommy’s tail wagged with joy.
He ate the cookie, became happy again, and started jumping and running ahead.
