📖Story :- False Praise Can Fool You
A big forest stretched far and wide. It was morning time – cool air was blowing and peace was spread all around. On the forest path, a bear was walking slowly. The bear loved to eat, especially sweet, crunchy biscuits!
While walking, the bear found a round, big, crispy biscuit lying on the ground. The bear said happily— “Wow! Such a big biscuit! Today breakfast will be amazing!”
The bear picked up the biscuit and sat on the grass, enjoying it calmly.
At the same time, a clever fox was passing by. Her eyes fell on the biscuit and her mouth started watering.
The fox thought— “If I ask directly, this bear will never give it… I must use my brain.”
She came near the bear smiling and said— “Hello, Mr. Bear!”
The bear replied— “Hello!”
The fox said— “Wow-wow! Today you look very strong and smart! Do you go to the gym every day?”
The bear smiled happily.
The fox said again— “Have you seen your walk? Exactly like the king of the jungle!”
The bear loved the praise.
The fox came a little closer and said— “I have heard that when you roar, the whole jungle trembles! But I have never heard it… please let me hear it today!”
The bear’s pride increased. He said— “Oh, you want to hear my voice? Listen!”
The bear raised both hands and tried to roar loudly— thump! The biscuit fell from the bear’s hands onto the ground!
The fox jumped like lightning – picked up the biscuit, turned back and said— “Thank you, Mr. Bear! I didn’t want your roar, I wanted this biscuit!”
And the fox ran away laughing.
The bear felt very sad. He sat down and said— “I fell for her false praise… and I lost my biscuit!”
He understood his mistake.
The bear said— “From now on, if anyone speaks sweet words, I must think first.”
He stood up and said— “Now I will never fall for false praise again!”
