On the bank of a river stood a large Fig tree. On that tree lived a green parrot — with a red beak, very talkative and always cheerful!
One day, it was extremely hot, and a tiny ant came to the riverbank to drink water.
She was just drinking when her foot slipped and she fell into the river!
Parrot (calling from above):
“Hey, Queen Ant! What are you doing? Practicing swimming or what?”
The ant cried out while drowning, “Parrot brother, save me!”
The parrot dropped a leaf.
The ant climbed onto the leaf and floated along until she reached the riverbank.
Ant:
“Parrot brother, you saved my life! Thank you so, so much!”
Ant:
“One day, I will definitely help you too!”
Parrot (laughing):
“Oh tiny ant, how could you possibly help me?”
Ant (smiling):
“Just wait and see! When the time comes, you’ll know what I can do!”
Slowly, a good friendship grew between them.
The ant came every day to drink water, and the parrot talked with her every day. They laughed a lot and had great fun together.
A few days later, a hunter came there. He saw a beautiful parrot sitting on the tree. He took out his gun and aimed.
At that moment, the ant was there too. She saw the hunter standing with his gun aimed at the parrot!
Ant (thinking):
“Oh no! My friend’s life is in danger!”
She ran quickly and bit the hunter hard on the leg!
Parrot (chirping from above):
“Wow, Queen Ant! You did something amazing! I thought you were small, but you saved my life!”
Ant (laughing):
“I told you, Parrot brother — in friendship, no one is big or small!”
Both laughed, and from that day on, they became true friends.
