Narrator:
Ethan and Emma were two good friends. They trusted each other a lot.
One day, they played happily in the garden. After a long time of playing, both got tired and decided to go to Emma’s house.
As soon as they entered the house, Ethan felt thirsty.
Ethan:
“Emma, can you give me some water?”
Emma:
“Yes, I’ll bring it right now.”
Emma went to the kitchen to bring water. Meanwhile, Ethan’s eyes fell on the mobile phone kept on the table.
Ethan picked up the mobile phone, but suddenly it slipped from his hand. The phone fell on the floor and its screen broke.
Ethan (nervously):
“Oh God…”
Ethan quickly picked up the phone and kept it back in the same place.
Just then, Emma came out with the water.
Emma (surprised):
“What was that sound just now?”
Ethan stayed silent for a few moments.
Ethan (lying):
“Nothing… the chair just moved.”
Emma looked at him with suspicion but said nothing. Ethan drank the water and quickly left.
After some time, Emma’s eyes fell on the mobile phone. She noticed that the screen was broken.
In the evening, Emma went to meet Ethan.
Emma (calm but sad):
“The phone is broken… and you lied to me?”
Ethan became silent. He looked down, and his eyes filled with tears.
Ethan (in a low voice):
“Emma… the phone accidentally slipped from my hand. I was scared that our friendship would break, so I lied. Please forgive me.”
For a few moments, silence spread between them.
Emma:
“Breaking a phone is not a big deal… but lying breaks trust.”
Tears started flowing from Ethan’s eyes.
Ethan:
“Please forgive me, Emma. I will never lie again.”
Emma (smiling):
“Telling the truth is the real courage.”
Conclusion:
Together, they decided to get the phone repaired. That day, their friendship became even stronger.
